Prescott College Partners with Verto to Provide an Accredited Freshman Year Abroad Program
Prescott, AZ -- (12/20/2019) - Today, Prescott College announced it has become a partner school with Verto Education, allowing students to spend their freshman year of college abroad. Incoming college freshman can now opt to spend their first semester, or year abroad earning general education credits, and seeing the world before continuing their studies on-campus with Prescott College. Verto offers many study options for students for example; international business in Milan, world politics in London, business ethics and global development in Southeast Asia, public health and sustainability in Latin America or species conservation and ecology in the South Pacific.
Verto’s unique approach allows students to begin their college career with small classes, in an international environment that will help them to determine their academic path. Prescott College, a liberal arts college which offers field-based learning and programs rooted in sustainability and social justice, is the first school to partner with Verto in Arizona and is the 28th partner for Verto Education.
Prescott College offers a number of unique, student-centered initiatives like the Accelerated Master’s degree program. Undergraduate students can begin taking graduate school courses in their senior year, can finish both degrees within five years, and can receive up to one year of their Master’s tuition-free.
“The benefits of education abroad are profound, diverse, and lifelong,” said Richard Floyd, Chief Enrollment Officer with Prescott College. “Verto’s approach, in many ways, matches the educational philosophy at Prescott College. The focus on experiential education and the opportunity for students to participate in an immersive style of learning is something students will continue when they attend Prescott College following their experience with Verto.”
Students who attend a semester with Verto earn general education and elective credits that transfer seamlessly to Prescott College upon the successful completion of their semester. Prescott College offers rolling admissions and all prospective students are encouraged to apply by August 1 for fall enrollment. The student-to-teacher ratio is a priority, as students are enrolled in small classes and cultural immersion is prioritized through the custom curriculum.
Students who are interested in spending their freshman year abroad should apply to Verto Education directly, selecting Prescott College as their partner college of choice for admission.
